Sodexo Donates to the Decatur County Rotary Club
From the President:
Thank you! There was a creative win-win partnership between Sodexo Food Service and the Decatur County Rotary Club. In exchange for the extra hands the Rotary Club provided in helping to serve the emeriti banquet and the Honor Class dinners, Sodexo donated around $1,500 to the fund for construction of a bike shelter. Thanks to Sodexo and thanks to the Rotary.

Sodexo Awards & Recognition
No. 2 Diversity Company
At their annual awards gala, DiversityInc named Sodexo the no. 2 company on their prestigious 2014 list of the Top 50 Companies for Diversity. Sodexo is the only company to be ranked in the top one or two spot for five consecutive years. From a group of over 1,000 participating companies, the Top 50 list included organizations from a wide range of industries, including consulting, retail, manufacturing and banking. This recognition is a testament to Sodexo's ongoing commitment to diversity and inclusion.
Sodexo continues to evidence its commitment to diversity and inclusion through its executive and leadership involvement in formal mentoring partnerships, employee business resource groups (with membership totaling close to 4,000 members) and the cross market diversity council. In addition, managers continue to participate in diversity and inclusion activities that are directly tied to Sodexo's diversity scorecard.
2014 Black Pearl Award
Excellence in Food Safety Earns Black Pearl Award from International Association for Food Protection. Sodexo is recognized for outstanding commitment to food safety and quality.
The International Association for Food Protection (IAFP) selected Sodexo as the 2014 recipient of the prestigious Black Pearl Award that recognizes outstanding commitment to and achievement of corporate excellence in food safety and quality.
The honor is given annually to one company for advancing food safety and quality through consumer programs, employee relations, educational activities, adherence to standards, and support of the goals and objectives of IAFP.
“Our commitment to quality assurance and food safety can be measured in any number of ways; from our certification credentials and industry leadership to the esteemed recognition we have received by awards like this,” said John Zimmermann, senior director, quality assurance and food safety, Sodexo. “The Black Pearl Award is a true testament to the dedicated hard efforts of the entire team at Sodexo and it confirms our organizational commitment to food safety.”
Because safe foodservice is a matter of trust, Sodexo was the first company in our industry segment to achieve ISO 22000 certification for our food safety management system. With the help of our Quality Assurance and Food Safety team, we continue to develop guidelines and programs that promote innovative food safety solutions. We continuously monitor and influence the latest trends, collaborating with industry, academia and regulatory agencies to be in the forefront of emerging issues while sharing knowledge with others.
Sponsored by the late Wilbur Feagan and F & H Food Equipment Company, the Black Pearl Award will be presented to Sodexo at IAFP's Annual Meeting in Indianapolis in August.
